In the spirit of One Room Challenge, ORC, reveal week I am sharing my past ORC’s room with updates and new photography.
Yesterday, I shared my ORC Master bedroom updates with new photography by Ariana Clare.

Last fall I decided to take the plunge again and participate in ORC. This round I chose to update my daughter’s room, AKA Operation Big Girl Room.
If you’re wondering what ORC is all about you can get the details and caught up on Operation Big Girl Room: ORC Fall 2014 here: Week 1 || Week 2 || Week 3|| Week 4 || Week 5 || Week 6 || Behind the Scenes & Sources and her Cherry Blossom and Bird Themed First Birthday Party that was based off her nursery.
One of the hardest aspects of ORC is it’s real world budget and decisions have to be made quickly during your six week design challenge. At the time we decided to make our daughter Sofia’s toddler bed into a day bed until we could decide to buy a full bed with her crib headboard or move the queen four poster bed from her younger sister’s room, which also served as a guest bedroom, into her room.
A few months after ORC we decided that while we like the white headboard and it didn’t take up the entire room, we didn’t want to get rid of the beautiful dark wood four poster bed. We also moved the play kitchen to my younger daughter Charlotte’s room and moved the bookcase from the long wall to the side wall.
In the midst of Spring 2015 ORC craziness I had the talented Ariana Claire capture my daughter’s big girl room updates! We still haven’t decided on new bedding, but I do love how the cherry blossom bedding fits with her cherry blossom themed bedroom.
I also will be sharing updates on my daughter Charlotte’s big room soon, but wanted to give you a sneak peek.
You can find details of her nursery, including the beautiful DIY stencil robin’s egg blue walls here and here, and her First Birthday Party which was based off her nursery here and here.
Here’s a sneak peek at my kitchen that I finally had photographed!
As you can see we’ve been busy in our down time with lots of fun updates to our home. Make sure you stop by for Spring 2015 One Room Challenge Glam Office Makeover Reveal on Thursday! If you’re just joining the fun you can get caught up on Week 1 || Week 2|| Week 3 || Week 4 || Week 5

Hey Michelle, many thanks for your kind words! It was a fun working on my oldest room last One Room Challenge and updating it recently! Hoping to have my daughter Charlotte’s room with the teepee up on the blog soon. I wish I had a teepee like that growing up to hideout in and read a book.

I love this. I’d love to create a beautiful room for my 3 big girls but I fear that their mess will take over and it won’t be noticeable.
Sarah Sofia Knepp says
Hey Aimee, thanks for your kind words! Yes, everyday there’s a mess, but it’s easy to pick up with lot of storage solutions like the baskets I found at HomeGoods or canvas bins from Pottery Barn Kids.

Oh my goodness I am in love with this room. Can I have it for myself? I need to pin this, so I can have a reference for when we move and my daughters room will not be half office anymore
Sarah Sofia Knepp says
Nicole many thanks for your kind words! I know right? I remember having a nice room growing up but nothing like this! You’re too sweet, I’m glad it has inspired your for your little girl!
Stephanie of The TipToe Fairy says
Just beautiful! I think I’ve been inspired to do some work on my youngest’s room now.
Jane Bernard says
Sarah I absolutely LOVE your little girls room! It’s so light n’ airy. And colorful too. Great job! I sooooo missed doing the ORC this Spring. But hoping and scheming for the Fall.

Hey Jane, many thanks my friend! I think I was a little crazy this round doing my office and finishing Sofia’s room and Charlotte’s room and getting it photographed in one day along with our master and kitchen. ORC is fun and hard to resist the wave of excitement but I might be finished for a while. We’ll see, I do say this each time one ends. 🙂 Hope to see you soon! XOXO, Sarah
