It’s that time again where blogland is taken over by interior designers and design enthusiasts such as myself to complete a room in six weeks AKA One Room Challenge hosted by Linda from Calling It Home!
Every time ORC rolls around it’s the busiest time, and this fall we have 6 events that are keeping us busy. You know the saying, when it rains it pours. We just couldn’t resist the temptation of doing another ORC with some talented people and collaborating with New South Home Couture!
If you’re starching your head that New South Home Couture sounds familiar, your right! Mallory of Style Your Senses (formally Charming in Charlotte) collaborated with them in Spring 2015 ORC on her guest bedroom. We have also collaborated with New South Home Couture on our Summer Soiree with Kendra Scott and continue to work together!
As many of you know, this is my fourth time participating in ORC. My first ORC was finishing our master bedroom.

Blue and White Kitchen Makeover that we finished during ORC Spring 2015

This time around it’s time to refresh our living room! Yes, we do have a living room, which is nonexistent in most new homes. However, here is some living room inspiration that I have been crushing on for a few years now!

Oh how I love the classic blue and white and a tufted sofa!

Classic blue and white mix in with fun mixed and matched pattern fabrics and colors! Look how the floral arrangement and pink and coral throws pop against the blue and white.

Neutrals mixed in with soothing blue and white and modern fabric patterns make this room feel so luxe and cozy.

Again, lots of neutral and modern furniture against light blue walls. Love how they used blue in the home décor items and in the shelving in next room to offset the neutrals. Not to mention to ceiling and crown molding make this space feel custom.
Did I mention I have a huge coral and blue crush? From my glam office to my daughter Charlotte’s coral and robin’s egg blue bedroom, it’s always been a favorite color palette of mine. I love the Imperial Trellis in coral and white from Schumacher on the ottoman with blue soda and curtains! The seashell frames make this look feel costal, which is exactly the feeling I’m going for in our living room.
We turned our dinning room into my glam office and I use our living room for meeting space as well as entertaining. On cold and rainy days I can be found in here all cozy reading a book or my favorite home décor magazines.
It’s come along way from when we moved in and the space was being used as a game room!
It would be one thing if the game room had looked like Holly’s, The English Room, from ORC Spring 2015, but not so much!
Our home is an eclectic mix of French, coastal, and blue and white. The living room is no exception with some modern pieces mixed in with more traditional and vintage pieces I’ve inherited.
You can see that my love for blue and white continues in our living room with home décor accents as well as my love of elephants with this elephant lamp. Many of the items in this room I found on The Thrill of The Hunt AKA thrifting at yard sales and vintage stores.
At first glance, this room looks finished, despite the boxes of Halloween and fall décor from events in my office. However, if you look closely you can tell my kids have been in here moving things around and that there a few unfinished areas.
One of those areas is this chair that I got at a yard sale for 25 cents! Yes, you read that right, 25 cents! I’ve had this for a year. It was first placed in our family room. However, it has now found a home in our living after I swapped out the gold and white vintage wingback chair to finish my Glam Office!

Lots of inspiration to get me going. I’m working on pulling fabric with New South Home Couture this week and will provide you with my plan and design board next Thursday. Stay Tuned!
