Week 1| Week 2 {You’re here}| Week 3 | Week 4 |Week 5 |Week 6 | Trove Feature and Before and After’s
Last week I talked about my inspiration and plan for refreshing our family room. We want a space that’s fits our coastal style, but is also kid and dog friendly.
Lots of blue and white and coastal elements to coordinate with the rest of our home.
Here’s a quick look back at our family room with much needed re-upholstered sleeper sofa from Crate & Barrel, re-upholstered recliner, and re-upholstered wingback chair that I inherited from my grandparents. I’m also on the hunt for a coffee table and table console to place behind the sofa.
This week we’re getting through the to do list by picking out fabric. Here’s a look at my first round of picks with shades of blue, coral, and white.
You can shop the fabrics here: Garden Gate Indigo Fabric by the Yard / Aqua Linen Weave Fabric by the Yard / Crossed Paths Navy Fabric by the Yard / Garden Gate Aqua Fabric by the Yard / Chinoiserie Coral Fabric by the Yard / Chinoiserie Aqua Fabric by the Yard / Imperial Seaside / Seville Seagrass / Imperial Coral / Isla Cyan / Trellis Cobalt
After requesting samples and playing around with different options, I’ve finally made a decision on re-upholstering our sofa bed, recliner, and wingback chair along with designer fabrics for custom pillows.
Shop New South Home and Lacefield Designs fabric here: Velvet Shimmer Aqua Fabric by the Yard / Embroidered Trellis Coral Fabric by the Yard / Sumatra Indigo Fabric by the Yard / Garden Gate Aqua Fabric by the Yard / Chinoiserie Coral Fabric by the Yard / Signature Linen Cream Fabric by the Yard / Casablanca Midnight / Imperial Seaside
I’ve placed fabric orders with New South Home and Lacefield Designs and have lined up my upholstery guy, Baitys Custom Upholstery.
While I wait for the fabrics to arrive and furniture pieces to be picked up, I’ve started coffee table shopping! I’ve known I wanted a round coffee table for a while, which allows more space for the kids to run around and play. I’ve been crushing on brass or Moroccan brass and wooden coffee tables!
I was lucky enough to stumble upon a Moroccan brass and wooden coffee table the other week, but I didn’t realize the top is not connected to the bottom legs. Since this is our family room and we have two young kids I don’t want to invest in something that will get knocked over. So Moroccan brass and wooden coffee table is off the list.
I love the brass oval coffee table above and it would be perfect for this room! However, I have to keep to a realistic budget, especially since we’re re-upholstering three large pieces, I can’t justify the price.
I’ve decided on this gold and glass Nash Round Coffee Table from Wayfair by Birch Lane
I love the brass look with the glass top! Better yet, it’s available for shipment this week and is in my price range! Get details and shop the rest of coffee tables here: Oval coffee table / Round coffee table / Marble coffee table / Oval coffee table / Alsager Coffee Table Reviews / Moroccan tray table Mosaik Interiors
I love our gallery wall of family photos in blue and white picture frames! However, I’ve been wanting to re-design this wall for a while and add some beautiful art pieces. We’ve partnered up with Tiny Prints for our canvas wall art! I absolutely love our family photos from last fall that we used for our Christmas cards and have been wanting to make them into canvas wall art. I ordered two canvas sizes, which will hopefully arrive in the next few weeks.
Here’s my running To Do List:
