Happy Hour Baby Shower is a fun, casual way to shower any mama-to-be with lots of love! Katie and Tim, parents-to-be, have been waiting for baby P for a long time and I was overjoyed to plan, design, and be a part of the celebration!
When Katie and Tim decided to wait until the big day to reveal the gender of baby P, I went to work on brainstorming for gender neutral baby shower themes. Since Katie loves the chevron pattern and had planned baby P’s registry around elephants and blue I was able to use these elements as my theme.
Katie wanted an intimate dinner with her girlfriends and loves Mexican food, and thus the Happy Hour Baby Shower became a central theme with margaritas and a taco bar. (See previous Cinco de Mayo post for Taco Bar and Beer ‘Garita recipes). Orange and turquoise are cheery and gender neural colors that made the event pop! Several of the decor items also served as gifts for the mama-to-be, which will be used for baby P’s nursery.
In addition to margaritas, we served Corona and bubbly, one of Katie’s favorite drinks before she was pregnant. We also had a chips and salsa station with peach salsa, delicious homemade guacamole, and homemade taco dip.
It was only fitting that we had a beautiful evening for a beautiful mother-to-be and were able to enjoy the outdoor setting of Katie and Tim’s new home. The turquoise chevron runner from Fantasy Vintage Bridal provided the perfect touch against the rest of the table setting, which was accented by the turquoise chevron baby bib and burp cloth by The Fresh Stitch for baby P!
We had a small station set up outside for guests to write a wish or message on a book-plate and place it inside one of their favorite children’s books as a gift for Baby P! I had no idea how creative some of Katie’s college friends could be in story telling!
The dessert table was so whimsical with the chevron orange fabric from the Fabric Shoppe, adorable turquoise and orange baby elephant shortbread cookies by Edible Art of Charlotte that served as the party favors, turquoise and orange sprinkled cake pops by Nicole Farrell, and turquoise and orange candy.
We are all so overjoyed for Katie and Tim! Seeing Katie with her adorable baby bump just gives me a huge smile and makes me so thrilled for their new family!
