You can also make your own chalkboard sign to match the theme for a kid’s birthday party or next years first day of school photos. Another fun way to announce you’re expecting a baby is to make your own chalkboard sign(s) with the name of the baby, due date, or the words love, happiness, and family. The uses are endless!
To make your own chalkboard sign you will need the following:
- 1 Piece of white foam board/plastic pumpkin (8in x 10in foam board is shown)
- Colored chalkboard paint (Martha Stewart Blue Chalkboard paint is shown)
- 1 Sponge brush
- Colored chalk
Take the white foam board and paint one coat of chalkboard paint using the sponge brush as directed. Let it dry for 30 minutes. Paint second coat of paint and lay dry for 24 hours. Use colored chalk to write your message.
