Elephants Coral and Robin’s Egg Blue First Birthday Party

Welcome to Charlotte’s Playhouse! Where we celebrated her first birthday in style with lots of love, treats, and fun!

Just like my daughter Sofia’s first birthday party, the inspiration for Charlotte’s Elephants Coral and Robin’s Egg Blue birthday party came from her nursery. The theme centered on the colors of her nursery, robin’s egg blue quatrefoil stenciled walls, and the wall art of a robin’s egg blue elephant with coral quatrefoil in the background.

I wanted the theme to be clear from start to finish and had custom invitations made by Carousel Printables with all the above elements. The shades of corals and blues gave a cheery and feminine look.

The party was held at our home. Since it was a 70 degree day in February we were able to make good use of the outdoors as well as displays inside.

Guests were greeted by Charlotte’s birth announcement in a robin’s egg blue vintage looking picture frame, pink floral arrangement by Sarah Sofia Productions, and a custom made coral and robin’s egg blue fabric banner by The Pickled Peanut.

Next stop in “Charlotte’s Playhouse” was the dessert bar. I had always wanted to use my daughter Sofia’s dresser for an event, which was the perfect fit for the dessert bar! I found two different sized cake stands in robin’s egg blue to display the cake and the centerpiece, coral and pink floral arrangement with Peanut M&M’s by Sarah Sofia Productions.

I designed the coral monogram letters, which are displayed in Charlotte’s nursery and now big girl room. The coral and robin’s egg blue felt elephants by Make Stich Knit were gifts for Charlotte and added a whimsical feel to the party!

I found these adorable blue and coral tin pails, which served as party favors filled with elephant shortbread cookies by Edible Art of Charlotte.

The cake was designed by Edible Art of Charlotte and as always tasted better than the beautiful artistic work! We went with chocolate and almond flavored pound cake.

I had custom paper rosettes/fans made by Makelle Designs, which added a bit of whimsical and depth to the décor of the dessert bar.

I used a farmer’s market basket to display coral and robin’s egg blue macaroons from Dean & Deluca, which added the perfect impact of color.

A pizza and drink bar greeted guests in the kitchen were we severed pizza from our favorite establishment, Jets Pizza. The signature drink was pink lemonade displayed in a large blue mason jar drink dispenser and served in blue mason jars with coral polka dot straws.

Activities were set up as part of “Charlotte’s Play House” where kids could play in a “Play Hut” that had a tunnel and ball pit area, and in a kitchen. I made a banner to display photos of Charlotte from 0-12 months using printables from Subway Party.

Kids and adults alike enjoyed exploring the rest of “Charlotte’s Playhouse” outside! There was a special kids table, custom made photo booth with props by Sarah Sofia Productions, tunnel, outdoor playhouse, and Lookout Treehouse by Step 2.

Of course if you know me, a birthday girl always has to look her best! I was able to design a pillow case dress by CookieBella Creations with coral quatrefoil, robin’s egg blue polka dots, and an elephant appliqué on the bottom.
