We’re talking all things warm and cozy as we enter the winter months!
Step one, get your self a blanket. Once the weather starts getting colder all I want to do is curl up with a warm blanket and get cozy! We have a basket full of blankets in our family room and I put out several around the house. However, I’m crushing over the striped cashmere throws from Parachute Home!
Find yourself a cozy spot in your home. One of my favorite warm and cozy spots is this vintage arm chair in my living room! Yes, my living room. I’m a firm believer that your living room should be used everyday and can be warm and cozy.
The blanket is from my trip to the Highlands in Scotland and has warm hues that brings out the tones in the yellow striped vintage arm chair. The vintage chair belonged to my grandparents and has special meaning to me.
Get comfortable with your favorite hot drink, book or magazine and curl up! Who wouldn’t want to get warm and cozy in this chair while reading their favorite book and sipping coffee?
I’ve been dying to read Lookway, Lookway,a novel by Wilton Barnhardt, which is a wonderful satire on the South and Charlotte, with characters that could have grown up with my mother.
Put on some mood lighting and get cozy by the fire!
Christmas isn’t over yet and now is a good time as any to cozy up on the sofa with your favorite blanket, put on a fire, and take in the lights on the season. Oh and your favorite drink of choice!
Cheers to the holiday season and warm and cozy nights!
Being comfortable is a must in my book if you want to be cozy. Sometimes it’s OK to stay in your PJ’s and have “cuddle time” or “sleepy time” with the ones love!
Wishing you a warm and cozy holiday and winter season!

I love this! Cozy is necessary for me this winter since I am pregnant!
Thank you! Oh, how exciting, congrats! Wishing you a warm and cozy holiday and pregnancy!
I loved this article. Your fireplace looks awesome all decorated with stockings! Happy holidays to you and yours!
Thank you so much for your kind words! wish you a warm and cozy holiday season to you and your family!
I have a little corner in my den where I sit and read while relaxing with a warm beverage. Creting a space like that is a sanity saver.
Saidah, that sounds perfect! I couldn’t agree with you more. 🙂
I have my books, magazines and Florida State throw on my side of the couch. When it gets cold, my husband likes to scoot over and get a little cuddle time 😉 Great post!
Dionne, I love that! I have to say I am a OSU fan. 🙂
A sweater/blanket and a good book are an absolute must for this type of cold weather. I no longer have a fire place but we love to come around the fire-pit on the weekends!
Kim, I love that! We have a fire pit outside and definitely put it to good use with roasting marshmallows.
I keep my snuggie on the couch so I can bundle up in it. I use that before I turn on the heater.
Lou, you crack me up! Love it!
So pretty! Pinning! I just love this time of year. I live in Northern Alberta so it’s always really freezing. I love being cozy in my little apartment!
Stefanie, thank you so much! Sounds perfect to me!
Hot chocolate or wine + good book + cozy throw blanket + puppy = my perfect cozy winter scenario.
Tiffany, I love it! Thank you!
I truly love this time of year because I love to be cozy and indoors.
I couldn’t agree with more! Happy Holidays!
Such a fun post! I must have thin blood or something because I freeze from about October to April–and I live in coastal South Carolina! 🙂 Blankets and hot tea are a must around my house most nights, or I start to complain about how cold I am. By the way, I LOVE your blanket–the tartan looks like my family’s (Buchanan clan)!
Natalie, I have a feeling I’m getting the same way (Ohioian now in Charlotte). 🙂 That’s so cool about your family clan! My family on my mother’s side is Scottish, but I need to do a little more research on the tartan plaid colors. Happy Holidays!
Love this!! I have my cozy spot and it’s my fave spot in my whole house!!
Rici, thank you so much! I love it! Wishing you a warm and cozy holiday season!
We have a cozy spot by the fireplace, but keep it running! Nothing like a warm fire to soothe yourself.
Scott, that sounds perfect for these cold months!
I have 6 good blankets on my bed, festive socks, and then I burrito myself into the blankets!
Alyssa, that sounds perfect! I love it!
I love a good book, fuzzy socks and a blazing fire!
Amy, I’m right there with you! Wishing you a warm & fuzzy holiday!
I love making cozy spots in my home. A good throw blanket, some fluffy pillow, a long book… perfect for snuggly winter moments.
Issa, that sounds perfect to me too! Hoping to finally slow down some to enjoy it!
Cozy in the winter time is a must! I have a favorite blanket and a book. I’m reading “Shopaholic to the Stars” by Sophie Kinsella. My drink of choice would be dark chocolate hot cocoa.
Thanks for sharing your story.
Romona, I’m taking notes on the book! Thanks for you kind words!
All of these items look perfect for staying warm this winter!
Brenda, thank you! Stay warm and cozy this winter!
You’ve got all of the cozy essentials covered- blanket, book, fireplace, and of course WINE 🙂 With all of these things on hand, I say bring on the snow (and then let it quickly melt and return to sunshine)!
Thank you! I couldn’t agree with you more. 🙂 Love a little snow, but then ready for it to melt away! Wishing you a warm and cozy holiday!
Love the fireplace!
