Last week our Friendsgiving was featured on Inspired By This! Today, we’re sharing all the details for you to create your own memories this Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is time to gather together with family and friends, and give thanks for all our blessings! Friends have always be an extension of my family and celebrating life’s events, big or small, in style with those that I hold close to my heart.
This boho chic Friendsgiving has all the fun elements of Thanksgiving but with a modern twist. Inspired by the purple and gold leaf invitation followed by the coordinating menu in blue, the event design has nontraditional Thanksgiving colors. The colors and calligraphy on the invitation and menu also inspired the calligraphy table runner with feathers and Thanksgiving phrases.
Playing on the gold accents we created a chic and easy DIY place setting with white pumpkins, which are partially spray painted in gold with place cards tied in purple ribbon.
I love to entertain, and wanted to make this Friendsgiving feel chic yet relaxed. Using casual white dinnerware mixed with coup champagne glasses has a beautiful contrast to the floral table runner.
When I entertain, I always do my own floral design and often do it for parties and events I plan, which makes your occasion feel more intimate and special! Use flowers, vegetables, and fruits that are in season to create your beautiful Friendsgiving floral arrangement! Eggplants, magnolia leaves, persimmons, mums, artichokes, and gomphrena were just a few of the flowers used in the floral design.
So many easy DIYs and decor ideas that this Boho Chic Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving is one of our most popular parties on TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest!
Don’t forget your candles and at varying heights to add interest and dimension to your tablescape! Gold votive mixed with white candles in low ball glassware filled with acorns provides a chic modern look that is easy to pull off in your own home!
So many fun DIYs and details that are fully captured in our video on Tiktok. Even a few years later this is a popular one that anyone can pull off!
When planning any party you have this vision in mind and then you can’t find that one item in the color you want. Instead of stressing over it, do what the professional do and improvise. While the inspiration behind this Friendsgiving called for gold chargers and purple napkins, the square plates are more modern and the orange napkins are striking against the white dinnerware and all the purple in the florals.
Now time for the mouthwatering menu! This Friendsgiving opted for non-traditional Thanksgiving food dishes, yet still very seasonal. This menu has it all from soup, to a modern twist on carved turkey, to delicious desserts!
Turkey Arancini
Sweet Potato Jam
Butternut Squash Risotto
Served in a Pear,
Truffle, Apple, Candied Pecans
Root Vegetable Falafel
Cranberry Relish
Elk Pumpkin Meat Pie
Apple Custard
Pumpkin Soup
Served in a Acorn Squash
Toasted Pita, Crab Salad
Pumpkin Crème Brulee
Ginger Cookies
Mini Apple Strudel
Apple Pumpkin Crumble
Instead of serving your guests family style for dessert, have a dessert bar, which allows guests to mix and mingle and devour dessert at their leisure. The dessert table is another way to showcase part of the meal with fun décor elements, like gold pumpkins displayed in a glass vase, feather or floral arrangement, and simple garland like the acorn garland. Add a cute sign or printable, and personalized cocktail napkins to finish the look.
Every party should have signature drink, and Friendsgiving is no different. Serve guests a Sparking Apple Cider Rosemary cocktail, which is a great alternative to the traditional wine and beer. This cocktail is also great with or without bubbly, and will have your guests asking for more!
Last but not least, add boutonnieres and flower crowns for your guests, which completes this boho chic Friendsgiving! You can either make this a DIY activity for your guests as they watch football or have them done by a professional. Either way, your guests will love the added charm to your Friendsgiving!
We hope you enjoyed this Friendsgiving! We’ll be sharing our Sparking Apple Cider Rosemary cocktail recipe and DIY pumpkin place card tutorial for you to use in your Thanksgiving celebrations later this week!
