Smoked salmon is the perfect appetizer for cocktail parties, bridal showers and your Valentine’s Day celebration!
To make the popular appetizer festive for Valentine’s Day you simply use heart shaped cookie cutters a voila’ you have heart shaped smoked salmon appetizer ready in minutes.
Heart Shaped Smoked Salmon Appetizer serves 8-12
Ingredients
- ½ Cup light cream cheese
- 8-12 Slices Rye bread
- 1 package of smoked salmon
- Fresh dill
- 2 Small heart shaped cookie cutters
Directions
Lay rye bread flat on a cutting board and press down two heart cookie cutters side by side. Remove accesses bread and place to the side. Do this for the next 7-11 slices. Spread cream cheese on each heart cut out. Place small pieces of smoked salmon on each heart cut out. Garnish with fresh dill. You can also use pumpernickel bread. Trader Joe’s has small square pieces of pumpernickel and rye, which makes the process a little easier.
The heart cut out appetizer is also creative for a bridal shower or wedding!
