It’s week 3 of One Room Challenge Family Room Refresh, which means we are half way through this 6 week design challenge hosted by Linda from Calling It Home.
If you’re just joining in the fun you can get caught on my family room refresh here:

In week 1 I discussed my design inspiration and overall plan for our coastal inspired family room refresh.
Last week I talked about fabric choices, coffee tables and my decision to go with this round gold glass one from Wayfair.
This week we’re talking console tables, which was by far my hardest decision with so many great options!

I’m loving all these wooden table consoles I’m finding that bring in the coastal vibe like this one from Wayfair in the far left. At the same time however, I love the modern look of the metal console tables, especially these two from Pottery Barn.
I love this glass and metal table from Wayfair, which is a great budget friendly find for those of you who love the Tanner Console table from Pottery Barn above. It came in as a close second.
After much debate, I choose a console table from Overstock that had the right measurements for the space and a mix of antique wood and metal, which brings out the coastal vibe, yet is still modern.
Next up was deciding on a custom mantel designed by Bear Wood Company. I’ve been working with Matt on a reclaimed wood mantel inspired by these mantels below.
Are you ready for some sneak peaks? First up is the coffee table (yes this is real life with kids toys under the sofa and popcorn from the boxes of furniture still on the floor).
Here’s a sneak peek of my gallery wall re-design, coffee table, and table console before this sofa gets a MAJOR makeover with some stunning aqua velvet designer fabric!
Here’s a close up of the wood and metal table console with some new home décor items, including ones from Veranda Magazine and The Scout Guide Charlotte Vol. 5, which I received yesterday as gifts from an event for the Mint Museum!
