Today I’m thrilled to be part of a Mother’s Day Table Tour with some fun and talented ladies to get you inspired! When host Kelley Nan and Randi Garrett asked me to join the home tour for Mother’s Day I immediately said yes!
Randi, Randi Garrett Design, is one of the hosts and is featured before my tour! Like me, Randi loves design and entertaining, and her home is absolutely stunning!
Kelley and I instantly hit it off with her love for design, florals, and coral! Kelley is constantly decorating and styling. You’ll love her home décor and tablescapes. Link to her tablescpae is at the end!
When my maternal grandparents died I was given this beautiful violet china collection from Limoges France, which was my great grandmother’s. I recently received it after being in storage at my parents house and knew this would be the perfect way to celebrate my mother this year!
One of the many things my mother taught me was the art of entertaining! From hosting a good dinner party to designing a beautiful centerpiece, my passion for entertaining and event design has come from her!
On May 8, 2011 my mama gave me Southern Living Party Cookbook for my first Mother’s Day, which was given to her by my grandmother on May 9, 1976, the Mother’s Day before I was born.
As Southern Living states “a good party doesn’t just happen, not even for the hostess who is regarded as having inborn flair for entertaining. The successful party is the result of careful planning of the food to be offered, as well as an awareness of just what makes an occasion memorable.”
I couldn’t agree more! I always make my guests feel welcome, and mother’s day should be no different. Choose something that’s meaningful to your mother and tie it into you table top design. If vintage china isn’t her thing, than use her favorite vase and style it with her favorite flowers!
Serve up your mother’s favorite cocktail or signature drink in fun glassware!
My great grandmother painted the coffee cups to match her violet china collection, which is perfect way to serve up coffee for brunch!
I have to say the violet champagne crystal coup glasses and wine or water glasses are my favorite pieces!
Don’t be afraid to mix and match vintage with modern and your metals to create a unique tablescape.
