It’s Memorial Day Weekend, which is the unofficial start of summer! Come on over as we celebrate on our deck!
We’re welcoming summer with watermelon and cucumber coolers in pineapples sippers and fun bright colors!
It doesn’t take much to turn your outdoor space into an extension of your home to entertain and relax. Adding colorful table linens, outdoor dinnerware, and floral arrangements are easy ways to change your deck or patio from everyday to a festive party space.
If you know me than we you know I love to entertain and celebrate in style! I also love blue and white and color! You may also know my rule of thumb when it comes to party planning and design: Use what you already own, restyle and add a few new items.
During the 3 years we’ve lived in this home we’ve added something new each year such as the outdoor blue and white rope coastal rug from Ikea, outdoor string of lights, storage and seating, lanterns, and flowers.
You might recognized the gold vintage two tiered bar cart and serving tray that we bought last fall for our Living Room Refresh! This is one of my favorite pieces because it’s so versatile!
I brought the inside home décor outside and added simple décor like lemons and limes in a glass vase and succulents.
I love my pineapple sippers that I bought last year for our FROZEN in Summer party! I simply added pink polka dot straws to make it more festive.
You might also recognized the blue and white outdoor/indoor pillows as we also use these to decorate our kitchen window seat.
Dinnerware is a mix of Party City pastel plastic plates and blue outdoor dinnerware from the dollar store that I’ve had for years! Spring or Summer I’ll pull out these colorful plastic glassware from Oh Joy Spring Collection for Target! Linen napkins are from Target a few years ago that I use all the time and are perfect for summer entertaining.
To complete this festive summer seasonal scape I bought Pottery Barn Kids new Fire and Crème’ table cloth and table runner, which are perfect for adult summer parties as well as kids!
How cute is the pink flamingo string of lights that I found at Party City?!
I love using pineapples as serving dishes and vases, as you might have seen in our FROZEN In Summer Party. I wanted to add a little bit of glam to this table top design by spray painting the pineapples gold. Simply cut out the pineapples, spray paint, and add florals to make these beautiful tropical flower arrangements.
A twist on ice cream sandwiches is taking macrons and adding strawberry or pistachio ice cream!
Not only are macrons colorful, but their bite size make this sweet treat refreshing and the perfect indulgence! However, make sure y0u serve immediately as ice cream will melt quickly.
Another easy and refreshing summer dish is watermelon and mint salad. When I’m not avoiding dairy I’ll add feta cheese for a sweet and savory taste.
However you celebrate summer make sure you celebrate in style!
