Today I’m sharing 5 Easy Styling Tips to refresh a space in your home + a chance for you to enter into this giveaway I’m hosting with Lauren Nicole Designs!
If you’ve been following me through the processes of updating our home and One Room Challenge, then you know we recently did a refresh of our family room. If you missed all the ORC action you can get caught up here: Week 1| Week 2Â | Week 3Â | Week 4Â | Week 5 | Week 6
Styling Tip 1: Add a vase to your home décor to add height and draw the eye in, as seen in the vignette on the console table behind the aqua velvet sofa and the two vases on the mantel. The vases on the mantel I keep permanently filled with colored rocks and tall candles and often use them for my events.
Styling Tip 2: If you see an expensive piece of furniture or home dĂ©cor accessory that you love, but just doesn’t fit your budget take a photo of it and do your research! More times than not you’ll be able to find a similar piece for less, like I did with table console, the blue and gold vase, and round gold coffee table that all look designer but fit my budget!
Styling Tip 3: Refresh a space with a new home dĂ©cor accessory like a beautiful bowl, flowers, plant or books. It doesn’t have to be a major purchase to have a major impact on the space! I simply added this beautiful flower bowl from Lauren Nicole Designs that fits perfectly with my blue and white coastal style.
Styling Tip 4: Refresh a space by simple using what you already own. I’m always re-arranging my home and restyling vignettes, especially with little ones running around a taking things off tables. You’ve heard me say this time and time again, especially when it comes to the holidays. To re-style this coffee table I took the tall glass vase filled with a candle and placed it in the blue bowl to add height and dimension.
Styling Tip 5: Try out a few home dĂ©cor pieces in your space and then decide. Any good designer or event designer will tell you that they’ve never gotten it just right on the first time. Styling and design is all about the process.
Whether your designing your own home or event,  try out a few different pieces, take a step back and reflect, like I did re-restyling this coffee table with the tall vase and then switching it out for the orchid in the blue flower glass bowl.
If saw our Mermaid Bash, then you know that we also used this beautiful flower coastal inspired glass bowl for our dessert table! Again, it’s all about thinking out of the box and using what you have to fit your design.
Don’t forget to use items in a new way when hosting a dinner party or even your kids parties!
If you love design and home dĂ©cor than you’ll love Lauren Nicole Designs and this fun giveaway for a ticket to one of their upcoming design seminars here in Charlotte!
Design 101 is a seminar series led by Lauren Clement and Linda Riddiough of Lauren Nicole Designs, an interior design studio and store located in Ballantyne.
Lauren and Linda have decades of interior design experience between them and will share their tips and tricks on hot-topic design issues. At the end of each seminar, you will feel better prepared to tackle all your home decorating choices.
The first seminar is called Bookcases, Mantels, Accessories: Oh My! You’ll be tacking one of Lauren and Linda’s favorite parts of designing a home…accessories! Accessories are the perfect way to add style and personality to your home, so selection and placement is key. Most homes have bookcases (or shelves) and mantels that need life and love brought to them. By sharing design tutorials and participating in hands-on activities, you’ll learn how to correctly decorate and accessorize both of bookcases and mantels!
