Let’s Flamingle all the way to the end of summer!
While school may have started, and Labor Day Weekend is upon us, technically it’s still summer until September 22!
Why not celebrate the end of summer with a Pink Flamingo Pool Party that kids and adults alike will enjoy!
As soon as I saw this beautiful pink flamingo water color by my talented friend Aniko, Place of My Taste, I knew I had to throw a Pink Flamingo Party! I simply had my talented friend and calligrapher Lindsey of LJ Design Co. write “Let’s Flamingle” in gold and vola, the perfect party décor!
We’re talking easy and colorful party décor from these fun plastic reusable pink and blue plates from Party City to gold pineapple paper plates for dessert from Meri Meri via Paper Source!
I’m loving these custom agate stone and Lucite napkin rings in blue and pink from Set In Stone, which I used in our Mermaid Bash earlier this summer! The napkin rings add a pop of color and interest in the table top design.
One of my favorite purchases last year for our FROZEN In Summer Water Party, are these Pineapple Sippers! I purchased a few from Party City, Via Blossom, and Oriental Trading, and have used them all summer long!
Limited time and budget, no problem! Instead of ordering fancy pink flamingo straws, make your own using Chenille Pipe Cleaners, faux pink feathers, glue, and colorful straws. I used the DIY Pink Flamingo Straw tutorial by Camp Makery and improvised when I couldn’t find a Bump Stem Pipe Cleaners.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, when decorating your home or for a party, use what you own and purchase a few new items! You may regonize the large Palm leafs from our Mermaid Bash, the paper pineapples from our FROZEN In Summer Water Party, succulents from our kitchen, white pineapple from our family room mantle, and gold pineapple shaker from our Summer kickoff party this year!
I found these lovely smelling palm candles and pink flamingo candle that adds texture and interest to the tablescape!
A Pink Flamingo Pool Party calls for a large pink flamingo float and a pineapple one to boot!
I also like to add a few outdoor pillows on our storage chest for extra seating. I’m loving my new custom pillows from Shutterfly, especially the pink flamingo pillow!
Whether you’re celebrating the end of summer with friends at the pool, backyard cook out, or a birthday, everyone loves cupcakes! We had these vanilla and chocolate pound cake cupcakes custom ordered from our favorite bakery, Edible Art Cake Shop!
Since this was a low key last minute party, we opted for pink and blue colored frosting and cupcake toppers that are available for instant download by Camalee Kate Studio via Etsy. We simple printed and cut out the cupcake toppers and taped them to the back of these fun pink honeycomb picks to finish to look.
We also love having options for our guests, such as sorbet, which is refreshing and lighter than ice cream.
I love the idea of sorbet in the shell of a watermelon and adding different flavors. However, why not try serving sorbet in several different natural fruit shells like lemon, orange, coconut?
I’ll share another time saving tip with you, that you and your family will enjoy! You can find pre made sorbet in natural fruit shells at Costco! Yes, that’s right Costco carries these summer delights!
Need other pink flamingo inspired food ideas? Kids and adults alike love watermelon, which is refreshing and filling! Why not use a flamingo cookie cutter and make pink flamingo cut outs from watermelon?
Last but not least, is the invitation! Even if you’re throwing a last minute party, people love receiving invitations! I found this pink flamingo and pineapple invitation by Jazz Hands Co. via Etsy, which was available for an instant download. I simply made a request for a custom invitation, and within 2 days I had this one at my fingertips!
