One Room Challenge Week 1: Bath Rooms Refresh

Hard to believe One Room Challenge (ORC) is here again hosted by Linda from Calling It Home!

Every time ORC rolls around I have a hard time saying no, because it’s an opportunity to update my house with a group of talented friends cheering me on, just like you are in a boot camp!

This fall will be our 6th ORC, and 8th & 9th rooms.

This round will be challenging as I will be out of town the last 2 weeks of the 6 and have 4 events during the process, which is why I’ve decided to take on updating our bathrooms. Not as exciting as our family room refresh from last spring, but still in need of some TLC! No major overhauls or dream makeovers, just adding new fixtures and accessories.

My style is bright, coastal, and blue and white! This New England Powder Room with shiplap is inspiring me for the guest bath.

I’m also loving the blue and white bathroom, which is a long and configured similar to our current guest bath/powder room.

Ideally, I would love to remove the large beveled mirror in our master bath, but after seeing this bathroom as one of the top 10 luxe bathrooms of 2015 I might just have to keep it!

OK, so here are some bad before photos of our guest bathroom, which has zero natural light.

This bathroom serves not only as our powder room but guest bath and our girls bathroom.  It’s in OK shape but needs a new shower head and new faucet that turns off easily AKA that isn’t broken. I’d also like to add new hardware, paint the cabinets and walls, add a gold towel rack, and gold toilet paper holder.

I will also be updating our master bathroom.

While I would love to have our master bathroom reconfigured that’s not in the budget. I would like to replace the hardware on cabinets, fix the broken towel rack on the wall (that’s been broken for 2 years), and replace the toilet that’s not regular size and is very outdated.

I’d also love to remove the large beveled mirror in both bathrooms and add smaller mirrors, but have to see if it’s in budget.

To Do List:

• Replace hardware with gold and coastal pulls
• Make or buy wall décor the fits the dual bathroom needs to guest bath
• Replace shower head in guest bath
• Paint cabinets in both bathrooms
• Add gold towel hook in guest bath
• Add gold toilet paper holder in guest bath
• Replace wall to wall mirrors with updated mirrors
• Add wall sconces to the walls in the guest bath
