Yesterday we shared Part I of our Christmas Home Tour with some of our favorite design friends!
Today we’re sharing Part II starting with our kitchen.
Now that we are friends come on in via our side door and walk into our kitchen!
I love how our home is open with the kitchen leading right into our family room and all the natural light we get from the floor length windows and doors! I am loving these mini pine trees with glitter from Trader Joe’s! They make perfect centerpieces and unique hostess gifts for the holiday season!
I have our kitchen dinning table decorated for everyday use during the holidays with this red and white table runner and a mix of low and high candles. In an instant the tablescape goes from day to a festive evening look for entertaining once the candles are lit. A colorful centerpiece with red, white and blue coordinate with the our blue and white home and the family room Christmas décor.
Adding florals doesn’t have to be complicated. A simple low floral arrangement like these red roses in a round vase with green leaves at the base at punch of color and coordinate with the wreaths and the rest of the décor.
Having young children I want my home to be a place where we make memories and have a little whimsical feel, especially during the holidays! This year I was so excited to finally be able to use this handmade Santa cookie jar that was made for our family when I was 1 year old! I found these candy cane stands at Hobby Lobby which my girls love!
The detail on this cookie jar is one of my favorite things with my letter to Santa on the side, a list of good boys and girls on the top, and this fun accounting Dept. with my mother’s name on the front. Simple but fun holiday décor is perfect for your kitchen high traffic area. Don’t have a special cookie jar? Get one custom made as a gift or create your own!
We are loving our coastal family room refresh this Christmas season! If you’re like us and have young children and limited free time, try decorating for the holidays in vingettes adding some holiday décor with your everyday home décor like we did on our coffee table, accent table, and table console behind the sofa.
Aren’t these magical king of kings so whimsical?! I love that they’re non traditional Christmas colors of pink, green and gold which coordinate with our coastal décor with coral, blue and gold accents.
Just like the fun Christmas figurines on the mantel, these are decorated boxes once filled with chocolate from Zurich. I have wonderful childhood memories of our house being filled with these and receiving new ones each year.
Speaking our mantel, it’s one of my favorite places to decorate and absolutely loving having one this year decked in Frontgate garland with embellished red bell lights from Target! I didn’t want to put nails into the piece to hang our Christmas stocking from Potter Barn Kids, so I simply used Command hooks.
Often times people get hung up literally on what to do next after hanging up their Christmas stockings and garland on the mantel. I like to design a vignette and then step back and tweek it adding or taking away décor pieces. This year I added the We Wish You a Merry Christmas wood plank sign I made our Christmas Craft Party at Anders Ruff Workshop! Stay tuned for details of the party later this week! I also added a few coastal stockings displayed in a tobacco basket for family that will be joining us this year.
Don’t forget to add festive holiday décor to your built in shelves! This is an area of the home people often have a hard time styling. However, use the same rule of thumb that I’ve used for my other vingettes, keep most of my everyday home décor and add a few festive pieces like gold pine cones, wooden signs, elf of the shelf, and of course a Santa and nutcracker!
Fresh greenery like these box wood wreaths from Trader Joe’s is an easy way to add holiday décor! I simply added a red bow to it for a brighter look.
Last but not least is the lights! It’s amazing how our family room is transformed into a magical winter wonderland by adding lights to the mantel, the HOPE marque light at the bottom of the fireplace, twinkling lights in blue vase behind on the console table, and of course the lights from the Christmas tree!
