This Safari Themed First Birthday Party has it all!
When the birthday girl’s mother asked me to help her plan and design her daughter’s first birthday party four months prior she had lots of great ideas. I took many of her ideas and pulled them together to create the pastel safari design.
From the moment you walk into this historic log cabin you’re greeted with safari animals and this commission art of the birthday girl, which is carried through out the safari themed party. Instead of a traditional guest book, guests were encouraged to leave a note in one of Ari’s favorite books.
The main focus is the dessert bar and table setting with fun pastel colors with a Safari theme. We installed a boxwood backdrop with balloon galrland and styled the dessert table with several assorted safari themed desserts such as macaroons, cupcakes, sugar cookies, grey dipped caksicles with watercolor safari animals, and a fun donut stand! We added a palm leaf table runner to the beautiful wood farm table.
Is that cake real? We opted for a faux 3 tier custom cake by Conception Deception and cupcake for the smash cake.
One of the first things my client executed was finding the pastel colored safari themed invitation and animal jars. The jars were filled with animal crackers and served as party favors for guests. We used some to decorate the dessert table.
We had planned to have the custom wood sign hung on the boxwood back drop, but ended up putting it on the mantle, which added decor to the sitting area.
We had custom animal safari plates designed by Painted Parade sister shop to Confection Deception, which added a pop of color and whimsical feel to the party.
Guests also enjoyed savory bites from snake shaped subs to a custom safari charcuterie board.
The mother of the birthday girl created her own signature drinks for the drink bar: Juggle Juice, Swamp Water, and Lemonade.
Guests enjoyed a balloon artist, coloring in custom coloring books, and outdoor games.
Each guest took home a custom party favor box to put their treats in with animal crackers.
