Patriotic Dessert That’s Easy To Make and A Crowd Pleaser

We’ve enjoyed this Patriotic Mixed Berry Pie for several years for the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and Labor Day celebrations. You can always make it for Christmas too. Bonus it’s super easy and a crowd pleaser!
Include Kids In Making The Pie

The Best and Easiest Patriotic Mixed Berry Pie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- Dash salt
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 1 cup halved fresh strawberries
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons butter (optional for rolling out curst)
- 2 Ready made pie crusts (1 for the bottom and 1 to roll out to make the stars and stripes for the top of the pie)
Instructions
•Preheat oven to 350°
•Whisk sugar, cornstarch, salt, water until smooth
•Gently fold raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and lemon juice into mixture
•Pour mixture into one of the ready made pie crusts
•Roll out the second ready made pie crust and cut 1 in rows; lay rows across entire top of pie. Optional to use butter on top of crust to brown it.
•Roll out remaining pie crust and cut stars using a cookie cutter; lay starts across pie
•Bake covered with foil on baking sheet for 30 min
•Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 min. until top is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
•Cool on wire rack for at least 1 hour for mixed berry pie to gel
•Top with Jenni’s Brambleberry Ice Cream and serve
*Note you can use frozen berries if desire. I like to use fresh berries and I do not boil mixture before I heat in pie in the oven.
