We’re excited to show you our Christmas Decor in our new home to get you inspired!
I pulled green, blue, pink, and gold colors from our living room into our main Christmas decor this year.
We enjoy decorating the Christmas tree together as a family listening to holiday music each year! I start with a pre-lit faux Christmas tree to cut down on overall costs and time. I’m also allergic to real trees and leaves.
Once the tree has been fluffed I add ribbon. I went with gold ribbon that has wire so it will easily bend and stick to the tree branches. I go around the entire tree starting with the top.
Once the ribbon is secured I add colorful garland. I rotated from pink to gold strands, again starting at the top and working my way down the Christmas tree.
Then we start decorating the Christmas tree as a family! It brings so much joy listening to Christmas songs and decorating. The trick is to let the children decorate the tree and then edit once they’re finished. I seperate ornaments that I’d like to use for our main tree from the other ornaments the children can use on individual trees in their bedrooms.
I layered our red Christmas tree skirt with a soft blue one I found at Old Time Pottery. I like to use colorful wrapping paper, boxes, and bows that coordinate with the Christmas tree. Top your Christmas gifts with unique ornaments.
The mantle is a mix of gold magnolia leaf garland and pre-lit garland. Hanging the bell garland over the magnolia leaf garland adds texture and draws the eye in. You can catch my tutorial on TikTok or Instagram.
Add various colorful miniature bottle brush trees and ornaments in your color scheme. The pink and gold nutcrackers are back again this year!
Another tip is to shop your own home and add a few new pieces each year. We keep our Christmas stocking (we even have one for our dog Bailey), but simply rearranging them differently make the look fresh. Instead of candles add ornaments to your lanterns.
Candles, tea lights, fairy lights and lanterns are all festive decor pieces that add glow to your decor. I added these DIY grape vine balls I early this fall to our hearth and simply wrapped colored fairy lights around them to dress them up for Christmas. They can also be displayed outside.
Add a small Christmas village to your bookshelves or table. A simple bowl of various colored ornaments makes any coffee table festive.
Hot Cocoa bar has been something we enjoy doing for parties or during the holiday season. I used decor from our Buddy The Elf Ugly Sweater Party and found the wood sign at Michaels.
We love cozying up by the fire and seeing our Christmas tree from our family room and kitchen.
