What You Need To Throw a Dollar Tree Christmas Craft Party
Holiday Craft Parties are a festive way to celebrate the season with friends for adults, teens, and tweens! First decide on a theme and if you want to do a Secret Santa or White Elephant Gift Exchange or Cookie Exchange. We opted for a Ugly Christmas Sweater and Secret Santa theme.
Christmas Craft Party Decor
Once you’ve nailed down your party theme you’re ready to pick out your party decor! You’ll find lots of festive holiday party decor from table covers, paper plates and napkins, cups, Christmas mugs, chair backs, fun hats, glasses, festive headbands, light bulb necklaces, to cookie boxes and tins, gift bags, and candy at the Dollar Tree.
Christmas Craft Party Supplies
Decide what craft(s) you want to make and how much time you have to complete them. We opted for a mix of winter and holiday large wood signs to paint that can hang on your door and DIY Paint N’ Shake Ornaments.
Larger wood signs take longer to paint, where small ornaments take 10 minutes. All the paint and crafting supplies are also from the Dollar Tree.
Prizes
If you’re throwing an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party or White Elephant Party add a small prize for best dressed or best gag gift! This encourages your guests to participate and makes it fun to reward guests who understand the assignment.
You’ll find lots of small prizes to giveaway at the Dollar Tree from cozy socks, festive Christmas mugs that you can add hot chocolate packet to, candles, candy, face masks, body scrubs, fun nail polish, manicure set, mini bottle brushed trees, or table top pre-lit Christmas tree. These also make great holiday gifts.
Christmas Cookie Decorating
Make is Merry and Bright with Christmas Cookie Decorating! We’re all about easy entertaining and budget friendly finds, which includes pre-made cookie batter that we bought from Walmart, including these Grinch ones.
Use cookie cutters and bake before your party. Have frosting and sprinkles displayed in cupcake liners for easy use and clean up. Don’t forget the Dollar Tree cookie boxes for guests to take home their goodies.
What To Wear
Make it festive with guests wearing a ugly sweater or cozy Christmas PJ’s. Find Ugly Christmas Sweaters at Walmart, Target or at a thrift store. We found these two options at Target.
Festive Holiday Party Activities
After crafting it’s time to enjoy gift exchanges or a cookie exchange. Make sure you get some fun photos of everyone dressed up with their party accessories against a festive fireplace or Christmas tree backdrop! Do some silly poses too!
How To Create A Cozy Christmas Movie Night Aesthetic
Creating a Cozy Christmas Movie aesthetic is an easy way to entertain and budget friendly! Comfortable seating, layers with blankets and pillow and candles are a must. The glow from the Christmas Tree, lanterns, and fairy lights are great additions.
DIY Lounge Seating
Use pillow cushions to line the floor and drape a cozy blanket over it to create DIY Lounge Seating. We used cushions from our outdoor sectional. The Lounge seating was by far the favorite cozy spot to watch a Christmas movie! If it’s warm enough you can take it outdoors and use an outdoor projector. We have this projector that’s currently on sale for under $100.
Choose your favorite Christmas movie. Elf and Home Alone are our two favorites for the humor and are Christmas classics that most guests will enjoy.
Easy and Festive Hot Chocolate Bar
A Cozy Christmas Movie Night calls for hot chocolate! Make a large batch of hot chocolate in a crock pot. Add holiday paper cups, festive marshmallows and salted caramel topper for guests to enjoy. You can buy all the ingredients at Walmart. Guests were raving that it was the best hot chocolate they’ve had!
Popcorn Bar
Have an easy popcorn bar that’s set up for guests to serve themselves. Display popcorn in festive paper containers and a few candies to top it off.
